"...and Christy's work has helped bring my leg back to a condition that otherwise wouldn't have been possible trying to do this on my own. I can feel that she cares about my well being in a way that wasn't like what I had experienced at any of the physical therapy clinics."

~ Steve B. from Davis, CA
Wellness Is A Condition of Balance on All Levels:
Body, Mind, Emotions and Spirit

"The truth about our childhood is stored up in our body and although we can repress it, we can never alter it. Our intellect can be deceived, our feelings manipulated, our perceptions confused, and our body tricked with medication. But someday the body will present its bill, for it is as incorruptible as a child who, stil whole in spirit, will accept no compromises or excuses, and it will not stop tormenting us until we stop evading the truth." -Alice Miller
curiousity of life
Spiritual teachers have taught us for centuries how our perceptions and emotional impressions in the womb can affect us the rest of our lives.
In recent years new, extensive scientific studies of the brain and its abilities have revealed much about the brain's ability to receive and keep impressions.
When we were a fetus we felt 'at one' with our mother. We experienced her emotions and were affected by her state of mind. In the womb noises were muted for us. When she was shocked by bad news or disturbed by noise we sensed her feelings.
During the birth process we were affected by an over-whelming amount of impressions, noise, light, and sensations. The brain rapidly recorded information and expanded on many levels. Although many of us cannot consciously recall much of that learning from our birth, those first impressions are with us for the rest of our lives.
The Human Body
The human body is an extraordinary gift.
It is important to be well acquainted with your body,
its functions, capabilities and limitations in order to know how
to keep it healthy and strong.
The body is a dynamic, self-regulating system that seeks balance and symmetry. Symmetry and proper placement of muscles and joints is necessary for for ease of movement and the proper functioning of the nervous system.
As adults we often take for granted that our body will always be healthy and strong. When we approach age thirty we begin to notice that we need to be more nurturing of our body and our health. Many of my clients over the years have asked me, 'What happened to my body's ability to keep going like I did as a child?'
The nervous system is the primary coordinator of all the functions of the body. The brain and the nervous system give us awareness of ourselves from the top of head to the tip of our toes.
For many years we have been taught the 'No pain, no gain' model. Experience has taught us that if pain is ignored severe injuries and disability can be caused.
When we teach ourselves to ignore “messages” from the body we build a tolerance for pain. The acquired ability to ignore pain can result in irreparable damage to our body. It is important to listen to pain. Pain is a signal that there is a dysfunction. In my 25+ years of practice I have cared for athletes and clients have learned. Pushing through pain can cause moderate to severe soft tissue damage, chronic tissue damage, chronic inflammation and scarring of the tissues of the body.
Our experiences condition us. Our choices in life are highly influenced by what we have experienced. When our mind and body is strongly conditioned by fear and emotional pain we can feel that we don't deserve pleasure. Unconsciously we'll often choose pain.
When we make decisions we don't stop to question what we are doing. Sometimes we have to experience extreme emotional pain and fear before we stop to consider what has happened to bring us to this point. Pain can be good because it can alert us to become aware that something needs to be changed in our lives.
"One of the clearest signals that a readjustment in our spiritual growth is taking place should be the sense that we are becoming 'unraveled' or in some way disconnected from others and the world. When we begin to feel disconnected, it is a cry from our spirit to be put back together again with everyone and everything, and to be sewn back into the collective soul." -Paul Pearsall, Ph.D; Miracles in Maui
"Miracles and meaningful coincidences of our lives are the evidence of our immortality." -Paul Pearsall, Ph.D; Miracles in Maui
After many years of seeking Peter and I have come to the realization that the about our past experiences can affect our ability to make wise decisions.
We have learned that continuing stress created by confusion and struggle can cause illness. Eventually, ongoing stress causes an imbalance or "dis-ease."
To quote one of my teachers, "All illnesses are based on the same source; a deep sense of separation from the Source/God."   Dr. Michael J. Lincoln, PhD, <www.talkinghearts.net>
We have learned that it is important for each of us to take time to return to the quietude and
beauty of nature, in order to reestablish harmony and balance with the Creator.
