"...and Christy's work has helped bring my leg back to a condition that otherwise wouldn't have been possible trying to do this on my own. I can feel that she cares about my well being in a way that wasn't like what I had experienced at any of the physical therapy clinics."

Reflexology Massage

Reflexology foot chart

Reflexology is a massage technique that triggers reflex points connected with the nerve endings in the feet, hands and ears which relieves tension and improves circulation. It helps to bring about a general clearing of the nerve paths for more healthy functioning of the body, mind and spirit.
Origins of Reflexology Massage
Dr. William Fitzgerald, author of Zone Therapy, defines Reflexology Massage as “A form of treatment by means of pressure points was known in India and China 5,000 years ago. This knowledge, however, appears to be lost or forgotten; perhaps set aside in favor of acupuncture, which emerged as the stronger growth from the same root.”

In addition to the early history of Reflexology in India and China there also appears to be evidence of reflexology being used in Egyptian art around 2330B.C.

Reflexology foot chart
Reflexology, a unique technique of massage which focuses on the use of the thumb and fingers to press and stimulate more than 7,200 nerve endings in each foot.

Those nerve endings are contacted at specific points on the hands, feet and ears that stimulate all parts of the body including organs and glands.

Stimulating a region of the hand, foot, or ear is intended to eliminate energy blockages thought to cause of pain or disease in the related areas. Reflexology is used to prevent, rather than to cure, and will relieve a wide variety of ailments.

Benefits of Reflexology Massage
Reflexology can relieve stress and tension within the body. It improves circulation, lymphatic flow, and works to unblock nerve impulse pathways. These benefits all work toward helping the body to heal itself by restoring balance to the vital energies. Reflexology also works wonderfully in conjunction with other body therapies.

You should wait about a week between therapies to avoid overstimulating the body.

"Reflexology can be a means to discover how the soft tissue organs and the entire skeletal system are functioning. Through trained fingers, the reflexologist can detect early warning signs that the body is struggling. Reflexology can help restore the internal system to better balance.”
The Professionals Reflexology Handbook, Shelly Hess
How Frequently Should I Have A Reflexology Treatment?
The body needs time to normalize between treatments. Once a week is normal, a more urgent case would be twice a week.
